How hard is this developer search?

Pick a stack, a place and a seniority. See the pool size, a difficulty score, and how much outreach it takes.

How the score works

The pool is the number of GitHub users who own repositories in your stack, list your location, and pass the seniority filter. The score is 11 minus 2.2 times the base-10 logarithm of the pool size, rounded and kept between 1 and 10. A pool of about 10 developers scores 9, 100 scores 7, 1,000 scores 4 and 10,000 scores 2.

People to contact is interviews divided by the reply rate and by the share of replies that become interviews. Change those two rates to match your own history. The defaults (10% and 40%) are placeholders, not industry benchmarks.

Counts are approximate and a floor: location is free text on GitHub, so people who write only a city or nothing are missed. Your query goes from your browser straight to GitHub's public API. GitMatcher does not receive or store it.
